Getting Ready to Travel

The Evening Breeze has been a project boat since its purchase two years ago. New interior, new mainsail, new electronics, solar charging, new Bimini, inverter, battery charger, Mack Pack, anchors, new fuel tank, new hoses, new propane tank, new prop shaft and ends, new cutlass bearing, new shaft log, tv, vhf, antenna, head, sink faucets, water pump, and much more. As much in improvements as purchase price.
To get ready for more than a weekend trip, a lot of additional things needed to be done. To replace the ice box, a new compressor powered cooler was added. A wifi antenna was added to improve reception in places with wifi availability. Added a spare anchor and rode and a Personal Locator Beacon for safety. A mosquito tent for the cockpit will make it possible to be outside in many places in south Florida at this time of year. I will carry a portable generator as my house batteries are marginal at best for cruising but there is no room for additional or larger batteries without major modifications.
Of course, I'll find out if my ideas were sound once we are underway.
