overcast and very little wind
Motoring without even a sail up this morning. Lost our wind around 0300 and by 0800 the little wind that we had was from dead astern and there was no way to stop the main from slapping back and forth as the one to two meter swells rolled under the boat, so we dropped it and we're motoring at 1200 RPMs making around four to four and a half knots.
There was a bit of blue sky around sunrise but then it clouded over and looked like we might get some rain. Now it's brightened a bit with a high layer of clouds and a only few heavier patches.
When we left Dumbea pass there was a boat ahead of us that seemed to be going in the same direction. We lost sight of them overnight but just overtook them a little bit ago. Looks like they are trying to sail and not making much speed at all. Also saw one cruise ship and a few birds.
Thinking of beef and pepper chow mein for dinner tonight.
