a bit of blue sky and light winds
Sailing again. We've had some wind off and on, so we sail for awhile, then motor for awhile, then sail again. We've been sailing since 0500 and we're doing around four knots in light winds. The seas are a bit lumpy and it looks as though the sun is trying to burn off the clouds. The solar cells are putting some amps back in the batteries. Overnight, there were a few times when the full moon was visible but for most of the night, the clouds were very thick and backlit by the moon. It was pitch black for awhile which may have been the lunar eclipse, but the moon was not visible through the clouds. We had one dry squall go through with a very strong wind shift. But for most of last night and this morning, it's been misting and drizzling. We're definitely not in the tropics any more.
Saw the other sailboat on the horizon for awhile last night, but they've dropped back again. Haven't seen any other boats or planes and very few birds.
Served rice and beans with beef, peppers, and onions for dinner last night. Turkey chow mein tonight.
