blue skies and light winds
Blue skies and blue water, but there's a squall behind us that looks as though it will miss us. Just finished topping up the fuel tank since we've been motor sailing in light winds for the past 24 hours making fives and sixes. We've looked at the tides and the most recent gribs. If they can be believed we might skirt the edge of the storm and have twenty to twenty-five knot winds from the north but that's a big if. It looks as though we might make it into the quarantine dock on the Brisbane river around mid-day Tuesday. We'll have a better sense tomorrow. We did update our arrival date with Australia Border Security and the marina.
Two ships in the past twenty-four hours. One was six miles away so we could just see it on the horizon. The other was a cruise ship heading for Noumea but it was around 14 miles away when it passed us. Tom said he saw a couple of blue bottles (like Portuguese men of war) this morning.
Potatoes, onions, and peppers with scrambled eggs for breakfast. Pumpkin curry soup for lunch and bean burritos for dinner tonight. Off to take a shower and shave while we have calm seas and hot water.
