early tuesday -- we're here

13 October 2014 | 27 26.6'S:153 06.3'E, 819 miles from Noumea
blue skies and hight clouds
We're here. After entering the shipping channels at 2200 last night, we tied up to Rivergate Marina's quarantine dock at 0630. Plan B, a catamaran, was already on the dock but there was just enough room for Dancing Bear to tie up behind them. Customs arrived a few minutes ago and the officers just went on Plan B, we should be next. Not sure how long we'll be here before we head over to the marina in Manley. Should be there later this afternoon.

The winds were quite strong last night as we left the ocean and entered the bay. It was similar to many of the ends of deliveries when we hit high winds entering the Chesapeake. Plus it was cold and rained off and on most the night. We covered the 40 miles down the bay and entered the Brisbane River around 0500 just after first light. The Port of Brisbane was on our port and the airport and industrial sites were on our starboard. Not the most scenic entry to Australia.

The sun's out and there's some blue skies. Odd to see so many signs of civilization.
