The Sydney Opera House just across the harbour from the Glenferrie Lodge where I'm staying. The ferry into Sydney (one block from the lodge) goes right past the Opera House. Here's a picture of the lodge. Their breakfasts (included) have been fantastic.
Enjoying my last morning of privacy and good internet in the Lodge before I finish packing and check out. Meeting the Great Southern Rail Indian Pacific train at 1345 and we're leaving at 1455 for Perth. Three nights and four days arriving Saturday morning. Opted for the cheap seat (which wasn't so cheap); Red service rather than Gold or Platinum. It means sleeping in the same seat (no sleeping car access), but at least I have a window seat. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a kangaroo. Still haven't seen one, although I saw this sign the other day.
Sydney has been just as easy to get around as Melbourne. The trains and ferries are easy to use and with Opal card charges are capped at $15 a day during the week (more than one zone, $10 in the city) and $2.50 on Sundays. I've been all over the city including the river ferry to the Sydney Olympic Park and the larger ferry out to the beach in Manly. Finally included myself in a picture.
