Less driving and more exploring yesterday. Stayed close to Albany. They have a large wind farm that produces 80% of Albany's electricity. While the blades seem to turn slowly, since they are so large the tips travel at over 200 km/h and create an interesting whistling noise.
This area of the coast has many rock formations. Here's a shot of a natural bridge:
And an area called the gap where the seas crash into a square cove with sheer rock walls.
Visited the Albany museum and an art gallery. Drove to the whaling museum but decided not to spend the $29 they were charging for admission.
Dinner and drinks last night at the Earl of Spencer pub with Danny and Miche -- friends I met on Wednesday in Walpole. Heading for Perth today. It's about a 5 hour drive. Dinner with friends from the train, then a 5am flight tomorrow morning through Melbourne to Hobart Tasmania. Decided to spend the night in the car and the airport and save the $80 it would have cost to get a room in Perth.
It's springtime and the flowers are out.
