high clouds and calm
It's a pretty morning in Annapolis. The creek is calm there are high clouds and the ducks are busy doing what ducks do best.
It looks as though we finally have a window to get the DeMoor Dauntless off the dock, down the bay, and offshore. But as you can see in the forecast map for 6pm next Wednesday, the forecast calls for an area of low pressure to cross the direct course between Cape Hatteras and the BVI. It's not clear, yet, how large this will be or what sort of winds and squalls there'll be, so the current plan is to avoid it and head for Bermuda (the small dot in the upper right corner of the map). We'll let the low pass before turning right and heading south for Tortola in the BVI.
Debbie Clark, is flying in tonight and then Reed and Cal, the owner and his friend, are arriving late Friday. We're planning to cast off the dock lines just after midnight and leave on Saturday the 2nd of May. If all goes according to plan we should be in Bermuda on Wednesday the 6th of May.
Final preparations today: provisions and a last stop at West Marine. Fuel and water tomorrow. It should be fun to see what she can do.
