blue skies and high clouds
Friday morning already and as forecast our wind has dropped off. The swells are settling down and running from astern about a meter to a meter and a half. No ships or planes overnight and we haven't heard any messages from Bermuda radio since midnight last night. We've been making good time and are now motor sailing making sixes. Should be halfway to Block Island later today.
It's sunny today and the range of blues is quite spectacular: from the deep blue of the ocean; to the baby blue of the sky; to the clear blue in the bit of breaking wave beneath the white foam; and the darker blue to black of the ocean in the shade from a cloud. The moon is a bit more than half full and lit up sea last night. When it's high in the sky it blots out the stars but seeing more of the ocean to the horizon more than makes up for that. Still seeing flying fish and quite a few portuguese men of war under their little sails that look like small baggies floating on the water.
Egg noodles with salmon and artichoke and a simple cream sauce for lunch yesterday. Pasta with a putensca sauce with capers, olives, tomatoes, onions, and more for dinner last night.
