a bit hazy warm and sunny
The view of Prickly Bay from the plane as I left yesterday morning which includies a view of Evening Ebb at home on her mooring ball. A nice shot of the neighborhood. Some highlights:
-- On the right-hand side of the picture you can see Prickly Bay Marina home of half price pizza Monday and Saturday nights, a fuel dock, customs and immigration, a butcher, and a laundry.
-- In the center of the picture just above the middle is Spice Island Marine where boats are stored on the hard. Timbers Restaurant and Budget Marine are there along the water.
-- Just a little bit out in the bay from Spice Island you can see the Coast Guard dock and a couple of Coast Guard boats tied up to the dock. Evening Ebb is just out from that on the left hand side of the channel (yesterdays picture).
-- The next bay to the left is True Blue where the True Blue Resort and the Dodgy Dock restaurant are located.
-- The airport runway is on the left.
-- The red roofs just below the runway are the medical school -- St George's University.
-- The little bay at the top of the picture just to the left of center is BBC Beach named after a nightclub that used to be there.
-- The beach to the right of that along the top right of the picture is Grand Anse Beach where the EcoDive shop is located.
So far the trip has gone well. My flight was only an hour late getting into JFKj. The Long Island Rail Road was significantly quicker and more comfortable than taking the E train into the city. Definitely worth the extra money.
Sat in a bar on the upper west side and watched the Broncos-Chiefs game last night. Always nice when the good guys pull one out. Took a long walk this morning and then had a great toasted egg bagel with whitefish salad on one half and cream cheese with lox on the other half for breakfast this morning. No pizza this trip -- maybe next week.
Somewhere in Jersey. Should be in DC by 1530.
