Splurge

We considered ourselves fortunate to have secured a reservation at the Resort for dinner after hearing reports about cruisers not being welcome at most of them, or being informed that it would cost $150 US to anchor off their property and dine in their restaurants. We anchored twice successfully but both times were asked to move by security, as we were in the way of their various marine toys. Finally we were asked to tie up to one of their resort boat moorings. This worked out really well for us as we were situated beside a reef that was teeming with fish and our dinghy ride to the dock was nice and short. We were thrilled with the variety of fish swimming along the reef and had a fabulous time at the resort. Escorted by a golf cart for a cocktail at a beautiful sandspit bar and later to their Lebanese/Armenian dining room, we wined and dined under the stars, thoroughly enjoying being spoiled by top notch service at one of our favorite Canadian Hoteliers. Pricey? You bet. But worth the splurge once in a while.

Next up: a 6.5 hour motorsail to the more remote Gafaru Fahlu atoll.
