Southbound! Day one...
03 October 2013 | Dana Point Harbor
We departed Marina del Rey at 0530. Patty and Tilly went back to bed and were asleep before we cleared the channel. Wimps!
The wind was calm and the sea surface was glassy, with occasional one to three foot swells, so we motored for the first half of the trip. A decent sea breeze finally kicked in at about 1:00 p.m., so we were able to do some sailing. Pulled into Dana Point Harbor at about 4:00 p.m. Topped off the fuel tank, emptied the holding tank, and pulled into a guest dock. After eleven hours at sea, Tilly was EXTREMELY happy to see dry land and to get a chance to relieve herself!
Tomorrow, it’s off the San Diego.
Buenos Noches!
