St. Peters Marina

HKB/sunny and windy
Hey folks, whew what a day we've had!!
We enjoyed Canada Day in Halifax with Al and Maggie on 'Sweet Dreams' and Bob and Joanie on 'Nemir' - fireworks and a cookout at the marina. It was a nice 'get ready to set off early for Liscomb (about 12 hours or so)' day of cleaning, prepping the boat and last minute fixes.
We had gone to Annapolis Royal, on the Fundy side of NS, with Maggie and Al and took the dogs. Started off rainy and cool and ended up hot, hot, hot. Very cute little 'Murder She Wrote' town with locals very willing to chat and offer directions - people are so very, very nice here in NS we've found.
After R&R in Halifax we motor-sailed to Liscomb and anchored for the night - lovely spot out of the wind in shallow water, calm and warm. Then it was up again bright and early, eck, to proceed through the damp fog and high wind to St. Pete's. We were going eight knots motor sailing with the wind behind us - some bumpy for our boat so we dropped the main and proceeded at a more leisurely pace. Very nice. Now, its laundry, hot showers and a stretch of the legs for all of us. Marina from 'Sea Bear' met us at the dock, they got here last night. She's a Canadian at heart because she kissed and hugged me while I was moving bumpers around the deck - nice greeting after a long cold day!!
Baddeck is our next and last stop in CBI, then it's time for long underwear, lots of fleece and head for Newfoundland.
