swimming with whales in Tonga

25 September 2024
Jeroen & Jeanette Jeltes
The local whalewatchers took us out for a day. We swam with a humpback mother with calf. A very special experience.

new crew in Tonga

20 September 2024
Despite the broken pole we had quite a comfortable passage of 1325NM in 9 days. New crew arrived !
Marijke, Jeroen's sister who lives in Whangarei NZ , is joining us for the crossing to New Zealand.

underway to Tonga

05 September 2024
We broke our genoa pole. It is 6.5m long and diameter of 12.5cm . We managed to stow away the pole before dark!
Luckily we have another pole which we normally use to put out the genneker. We hope to repair the broken pole in New Zealand.

Maupiti Manta's

We had a rough passage with 2 depressions and a couple of coldfronts. Tempratures started at 27 degrees and got in kodiak with 7 degrees C.

We spend almost 2 months in Hawaii berthed at the Waikiki yachtclub. We had a family get together and had a great time.
