We moved from New Bight to Fernandez Bay on Cat Island. There's a neat resort here that we visited on our tour with the rental car. They have a huge bar fully stocked that is on the total honor system. Ya' gotta' love it.
This is a cool way to get to your vacation
We've been here a couple of nights and they have the best cheeseburger in the Bahamas. It's so big Kim and I split one for lunch and probably won't need supper tonight. Lobster season ended March 31, but Grouper is in season. So we decided to do a little snorkeling. There was a Nurse Shark on every coral head. They aren't aggressive sharks and are harmless if you don't piss them off. So I took a few pictures of one. We then went to another small coral head and found a nest of small lobsters. I counted at least 10 of them in one hole. I stuck the camera in the hole to get a picture. Those small dots are their eyes in the flash.
Look at their eyes
The hole was full of them!
The reef was very cool, these are Silk Snappers
There are some more pics in the Gallery.
Overall, we really like Cat Island. The people are fantastic and they have very clear water and nice beaches. On our tour we ran into one of the Rake 'N Scrape guys that owns a bar called "Da Smoke pot". His wife is the cook, he's the bartender and we ended up with a great cracked Conch lunch. That's a good day.
This is Julian at Da Smoke Pot
We have a mini front coming through so we'll do some moving around over the next few days to find comfortable anchoring.
Talk later.
