Day 2
09 July 2017 | Enroute to Australia
Bernie
We have experienced light headwinds since leaving Noumea and have motored and sailed and now we are doing both in an attempt to make progress towards Australia. I wanted to get across this stretch of water as quickly as possible to avoid getting a hammering. The latest forecast now indicates that we will get strong headwinds of 25knots on Wednesday so a hammering of sorts is coming our way! I anticipated some of this weather on this passage and have been preparing the boat for it, now we have to mentally prepare ourselves. I was hoping to make our landfall in Newcastle, but as we are not making terribly good progress at the moment it is looking more and more like a landfall in Coffs Harbour.
