Well, time to move First light south again! We got some ice in the Pelican and got on board to realize that I forgot to leave on the battery charger. The batteries were down to 11 V and the fridge was warm and everything spoiled. What a mess. We cleaned it all up and realized we have no food for our move early in the morning.
This day is not shaping up too good. We originally wanted to rent a car from st simons to skidaway. As we were driving to st simons enterprise called me and told me

A pleasant surprise

We got diesel, paid our dockage and headed out of beaufort this morning. A couple miles from the ocean there is another marina near the bridge. As I was approaching I saw a catamaran on the face dock and realized that this was Tom and Vivian whom we met in St Simons (and again in Skidaway). They are heading north. I pulled the boat up next to them and we talked a bit. Sad news as they had to put their dog Rex down the day before. Really great people. I tried to snap a picture but it didnt come out so good.
Will and I headed south in the ocean and realized when the wind and waves were not in our favor that we would not make St Simons. We opted for Skidaway and I would have to take her from there south. We called a cab that took us to the Savannah airport where we got rental cars and headed our separate ways.

Will and I head south

Well we got off in the late morning and went the route of the ICW. The plan was to either go out the edisto or out beaufort. The currents were either giving us 7.5 kts or under 5 depending on which part of the icw we were on. We hit the fork where we had to make the decision and the current in the south edisto was against us so we headed to Beaufort. We made decent headway and made it to Beaufort city dock a bit after the sunset. We need fuel to keep heading south. Will get that in the morning and get moving. Will has to be back in Charleston the following morning so our time table is getting short.

waxing continues

Fletcher continues his compound and waxing of the boat and it is starting to look really good. Unfortunately the dust goes everywhere! I am heading to NYC this week and then leaving with Will to go overnight to St Simons Island when I return. Should be a fun trip. Haven't been overnight in many years.
BTW, we purchased a pelican cooler that is truly spectacular. It was a choice between that and the Yeti. I liked the pelicans latch system better and have always had good luck with their products before. Keeps things frigid which is desperately needed with the heat of Charleston.

Wedding Day

Kevin
Looks like a cloudy day and hope the rain will hold off for the wedding. Good thing is that it is cooler. Funny coming from a Floridian but Charleston is wicked hot. Hotter than home. Fletcher is back compounding and waxing and he is doing a great job. Dylan will be coming to the ceremony but since no kids at the reception he will be staying with the other kids on the property. It will be a long night but we are excited for our friends. A pic of us all spiffy for the wedding.
