Surviving in the Jumentos

24 February 2010 | Hog Cay, Jumentos
Ralph
We cruised down to the Jumentos on Saturday and had a nice sail on the way down. Going through the cut was a little scary, but made it throught with no problems. There was a Leopard Cat that was following and when we started going down wind, we poled out the jib and went wing on wing and the Leopard put up their Spinnaker. I thought they would kick our ass but we were surprised to find us walk away from them. By the time we reached Water Cay, they were a speck back on the horizon. We stayed at Water Cay for the night and then took off again in the morning with Cat Tales to head south where we could protection from the next front. We did another 49 miles south and anchored by Double Breasted Cay - which is close to the south part of the island chain. We did well sailing again as we pulled ahead of Cat Tales and blew by a monohull like they were standing still. We moved again today as another front is coming through. They are coming through every two days - making it a real pain in the ass. Hopefully they will settle down. It is very remote here, with the only town being Duncan Town at the very south part of the island chain.

I have not uploaded new pictures from the camera recently so we don't have any new pictures. This picture is of Scarlet from Starbound.
