In the jungle

05 June 2010 | Shelter Bay Marina, Panama
Ralph
Shelter bay is located at the edge of the jungle and this morning we could hear the Howler Monkeys making quite a racket. So I went for a walk to see if I could find them. There is an easy trail that makes a loop throught the jungle. It is amazingly green here and the sounds and smells are fantastic. I did not see the monkeys, but could hear them well. I did some parrots and other bird and some orchids growing in the trunk of a tree.

The humidity is a killer today and there is no wind, so it is uncomfortable. We will work for a while this morning and then goof off for the rest of day. There is a real nice pool here, so we will probably spend some time in there. Tonight there is live music and a cajun dinner for the cruisers, so that should be fun.

On monday we will probably take the bus into Colon and check things our there. There are some parts of the Colon that are very dangerous, but if you stick to the right places, you should be ok.
