Made it back from Colon with out getting shot

Just for the record, yesterdays picture was not a rum induced look. I had just finished my 3 - 6 am watch and Karen was giving me a hard time for playing games on my iPod. So while she was taking pictures, I gave her a goofy look.

Yesterday morning we headed into town to check out Colon and do a little grocery shopping. We went with Steve from Better Days so he could show us the ropes. The grocery store was the best I have seen since USA and the prices were real good - especially meat. We had the pork chops last night along with some sourkraut and potatoes - cooked in the pressure cooker - delicious.

On the way into town, we had to cross the Panama Cana, which is something to see. It looks like we will have an opportunity to go throught the canal with another boat this friday. When you go through the canal, you need 4 line handlers, so cruisers are often looking for help. It is a family from Finland and they have two small boys - ages 4 and 6. We would leave Friday afternoon and go through the first set of lock, then anchor for the night and travel through the next 3 locks before arriving in the Pacific ocean on Saturday. We would then catch a bus back to our boat in Shelter bay. I am real excited about this, so I hope it happens.

We have not been taking pictures, so I have nothing new to post. But I promise to change that......
