On our way home

24 June 2010 | Airport, Panama City
Ralph
We are on our way home today. Five Islands is resting comfortably in the dry storage yard at Shelter Bay and I hope that the mold and mildew stays under control while we are gone. We tried all of the tricks that people have suggested, so hopfully it works. We fly back to Panama on August 31, so its really not that long.

Had an interesting taxi ride into Panama City. Saw a Gato Solo - a racoon type of creature and then saw a Sloth climbing (slowly) on a electricity wire. Very cool.

I am impressed with Panama City - The amount of skyscrapers rivals downtown Vancouver and there are LOTS more undercontruction. The econonomy seems to be going quite nicely. Checked out an old part of the city, which was enjoyable, but HOT. Went to a market and bought some molas, which are hand stitched by Kuna Indians and a couple of handmade dresses for neice/friend's new babies.

I am also looking forward to seeing the kids, family and catching up with friends.
