We decided to leave early this morning. We took Five Islands out in the early afternoon and layed down the track on the GPS so we could follow it when we left at 2:30am. As usual before a passage I slept like CRAP. I would wake up every hour worrying about this and that.

We went over to Randy and Lynne's for happy hour and as usual she put out an awesome spread of food. They are such nice people and I hope we run into them again some day. They also had Jean and Celia from Last Laugh over and we really enjoyed their stories. Celia speaks spanish fluently which had them enabled them to befriend the local Kuna's. We also went out for one last snorkel in the afternoon and I saw 5 small lobsters - 4 in one hole. but they were all too small to harvest.

We have had both motors on all the way, but also have the main and jib out. The wind was coming from right behind us at first but now we are on a broad reach but still only seeing apparent wind of 6 or 7 kts so that means the main flogs around a fair bit. But I am not complaining. We are averaging 5.5 kts and our arrival time is somewhere around 1pm tomorrow. So hopefully we can keep up this speed. We will double reef the main tonight in case we run into some bad squalls. There is another boat out here somewhere also heading for Columbia, but we have not been able to make contact on the radio.

I am excited about Cartagena. Everybody raves about it, but also talk about how dirty the water is and how crap grow on the bottom. We will take the bad with the good. Not sure how long we will stay. I guess it depends on how much we enjoy it. And we are also considering a number of boat projects, which we will investigate once we get there.
