Another river tour

04 February 2011 | Nargana, San Blas, Panama
Ralph
We arrived at Nargana at around 3:00pm on feb 2 and no sooner did we get the anchor down, a couple of guys showed up with a bunch of lobsters. He wanted $20 for all of them and there must have been over 15, but a lot of them were small. So I picked out the 5 largest - he asked for $8 and I bought them for $6.

It wan an early morning yesterday as the plane was SUPPOSED to leave at 6:45. We arrived at the "airport" at around 6:15 and then the waiting started. There were a couple of other people waiting - two young guys that were traveling around for 4 months (Les & Diane had 4 times as much luggage as these two guys) After about 1 1/2 hours a few more people started showing up and the plane finally arrived at after 9:00 some time.

After seeing them off on the plane, we went for a river tour up the Rio Diablo with Connie and Steve. This was the nicest river so far that we have toured. It was nice and wide with lots of beautiful vegetation. The Kunas had plots along the banks where they were growing different things. We saw some pineapples that were in bloom and saw lots of huge mango trees that were also just setting their fruit. We have a few days now before Loti and Don come so we have to do laundry, make water, clean the boat and try to get internet access. It will be a busy few days...
