This is the first of what I hope are many entries to this blog. Starting this blog is just one of many things we are trying to check off our list as we prepare for the big adventure this fall. What triggered starting the blog is checking another HUGE item off the list. We have a conditional sale on a 37' Lagoon Catamaran. As long as she passes a thorough inspection, she will be ours by the end of August. The boat is located in Brunswick Georgia and will remain there until we are ready to move on to her in October.

We have selected a surveyor to do the inspection and the broker is trying to coordinate the survey and sea trial. The boat needs to be hauled out of the water so the hulls can be checked over and the nearest place to get that done is in Jacksonville or St Augustine, which is 50 - 70 miles away.

The boat is pretty well equipped with two new motors, newer sails, water maker etc. Lagoon is a French builder, but the TPI boats were built in the USA by Tillitson Pearson and are noted for there sturdy construction. It also has the galley "up" which is a nice feature and a top loading fridge and a seperate top loading freezer. It is not a huge boat, but will be very comfortable for the 2 of us and will easily accommodate a couple of guests. She has 3 cabins although one of them has been used as a storage room / Work Shop. The boat has 2 Full heads. The head on the "owners" side also has a huge shower.

We hope she checks out. . .
