The good and the bad

Our new shiny fuel tank arrived on Friday afternoon along with Joe to help me get it installed. After spending 3 frustrating hours on re-installing it, we had made NO progress. The space where the tank sits was very uneven and we were not sure on how stabilize it so it would not move and be securely in place so no chafing would occur. I got lots of suggestions from people on the dock and the challenge was to wade through all the ideas to figure out which was the "right" one. I finally gave up at around 7 and decided to try again the next day. It was a BAD day and I was not pleased with our results

On Saturday morning, I got my neighbor from Cambia to come have a look and he gave me the solution right away. So we headed back to the hardware store to pick us some Bondo and within 1 hour I had leveled out the problem and we were ready to put it back in. I had never used this product, but it turned out to be real easy and it did an excellent job. Joe arrived back at around noon and by around 4:00, we had the tank securely installed and all of the hoses reconnected. It was a GOOD day. We capped the evening off by going to an excellent BBQ place with our friends from CAMBIA and had a great time.

Today we are going to put the fuel back into the tank, get everything primed up and get the engines running again. And if the wind stays down, I think will get the sails put up - again with the help from our neighbors on Cambia. They have been so helpful to us and we cannot thank them enough.

The people down here are very friendly. Around town, people are always smiling and saying hi.

Later this week we are removing the washing machine and will take it to this place called Sailor Exchange in St Augustine. We will drop off the rental car at the same time, and after that, we will probably start heading south.
