Where to start????

20 August 2012 | Entoute to Cape May
vdstein@hotmail.com
We're our way to Cape May at the mouth to Deleware Bay. We left NYC on Friday about 10AM. Sailed by the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Got some great pictures, but on Fridays the LARGE cruise ships come in and by the statue, so there were some exciting moments! We had planned on going across to Sandy Hook and then on from there, but as we sailid by Coney Island, we decided we needed to go there. We pulled into Rockaway Yacht Club. What a lucky accident! The members ther are among the nicest, helpful people you could ever hope to meet! I won't name names specifically in fear of missing someone, but everyone made us feel very special. THey opend their clubhouse to us, fed us,and when we left they made sure our water tanks were full and gave us more ice than we cound jam in the fridge! Took us where ever we need togo, we really didn't want to leave, but such is life! The trip to Coney was fun. Our driver that took us to Coney, was "Fast Eddie" Humphry....google him in connection with Meyer Lansky, you'll be as amazed as I was......It looks like we'll get to Cape May around 6AM tomorrow. It's my rest shift now so going to catch a few winks....and again I really can't say thank you enough to the people at RYC...You'll all be missed! TTFN
