Once again I was reminded that I have been lazy, and not posting enough.....It's the Bahamian way is my excuse......We found it is easier to get to The VI's from here, than from George Town....I know...It's hard to believe.....but the trades and seas in The Windward Passage are just too big to make for fun sailing.....We left George Town on Wednesday and got into Fernandina at 5:30 AM Sunday morning. The Plan was to go directly from George Town to Charleston, SC, but we hit some weather 3 days out and diverted to Fernandina Beach, FL. The trip was 97 hours. We were here for 2 days and were leaving for Jacksonville, FL. We were about 5 min into the trip and suddenly the exhaust system fell apart, and for you non boaters, when the exhaust system on a boat with an inboard engine fails, you are pumping sea water used for cooling, directly into the boat......not a good thing! We made it to a dock, and are having a new exhaust system built as we speak. I hope to get it back today or tomorrow, as out daughter if flying into Orlando this Friday to visit! We'll see how it all ends up.......TTFN
