Yesterday's tack to the east served us well; past 24 hrs we've been able to hold pretty much on course for Tahiti, keeping as close on the wind as we can. Also means we're close on the waves, taking them just off straight on the bow. Not bad motion but every so often we crash through or over one which you really hear and feel down below. Hard to sleep especially further forward. You understand why the crew was always stuck forward of the mast in the days of sail (and officers aft). Have not pointed this out to my crew but it may have crossed their minds...
