heading to windward

after our 3rd night in Bora Bora, we've decided it's time to start making our way back toward the windward isles. And it will be to windward, likely a couple of long tacks ahead of us into a pretty steady SE trade wind. Plan is to stop first in Tahaa, which is one of the quieter islands; pearl farms, vanilla plantations.

A lot of wind through the lagoon last night; gusts of 20+ knots. And we are in one of the more protected corners. Anchor held well, even though we're in 90 feet of water which is deeper than you would normally like (and a bit of a crowded corner here too, as it was better sheltered than the rest of the lagoon).

Yesterday afternoon and night were overcast and rainy at times, but today is nice again. Should be a good sail..

Everyone is doing well, no sunburns, no major seasickness. Snorkeling is a highlight so far; wishing we had more time to get ashore and climb some of these peaks -- these islands are spectacular eroded volcanoes.
