packed up and left Forty at anchor this AM. Not the greatest feeling... but Sylvain will be back to check here this afternoon and daily thereafter. My other neighbours at anchor are watching too. And I really think the ramp will be done soon! Their new strategy using a back hoe along with the over head crane seems to be working (they're trying to make a level bed for the bottom piece of concrete which is probably in eight feet of water, basically doing it blind except for one guy on the crew in a bathing suit with a dive mask). Chickens and dogs running everywhere... When all is complete Sylvain will up anchor and motor across for Vincent to do his thing.
Anyway one of those things you can't really fight at the end of an otherwise incredible trip. Spending the extra time in the Marquesas, especially Tahuata and Fatu Hiva, a bonus; really amazing, other world kind of places.
