Last night

After swimming at Wallace for the afternoon, decided to power the rest of the way up Trincomali, Pylades channels to Tugboat; partly because this is somewhere we can plug-in and batteries appear about to die forever.

Swam here as well, water was beautiful. Spectacular dark night before moon came up, again amazing stars and phosphorescence.

Katrina and Rylee cooked up an impressive tomato penne for dinner.

Everyone ready for home, laundry, showers… Great trip, didn’t lose any kids or cats, didn’t catch any fish but some great sails, interesting stops, amazing weather.

Wallace Island

After making a scene of an entrance, decided we would stay long enough to have a drink and a swim but not impose our 40 foot windage on our anxious neighbours in a strong northwesterly. Swimming awesome, water considerably warmer than down south. Kids as always one upping us and each other, as above…

Treehouse Cafe

17 August 2022 | Scott Point
MB
Grocery stop in Ganges, packed with boats and people, no dock space; anchored just off and dinghy run in. Success at thrifty’s and then had a great dinner at the treehouse café, Ending with some pretty good live music. Up anchor at about 7:30, Short run from there to Scott point out station which kids have been looking forward to due to the pool…

…and onward

With sketchy promise of possible ice cream sandwiches, Kate lured half the crew into a further exploration of South pender which turned out to be a 7 km semicircle back to Bedwell Harbor. Where, fortunately, there were indeed ice cream sandwiches.

Mt Norman

Reluctant hike from Pender canal bridge, between the two Penders, up mount Norman which is not much of a mount but great views from its 250 m elevation. Much complaining.

Dogfish

Ok well yesterday we were at cabbage and island and I fished off the boat for literally the entire day and all I got was one tiny little fish. Today when we left we stopped momentarily off Saturna island cause dad and Kate wanted to go wine tasting or something, anyways while we were anchored I caught a dogfish so me Lucas and Rylee had to deal with it by ourselves. We let it go (with some difficulty) then I put the line back down and caught what I'm pretty sure was the same dogfish again. We let it go and then I caught it AGAIN, only this time it bit the line and got away so it stole my hook and the lure. It seems the third time is not the charm. I'm tired now.
