Our First Post, with many to come...

The Adventure Begins:
This is our first entry into our sailing adventure blog. Nancy & I have both quit our jobs and are working to finish the long list of tasks that need to get done before we leave. We have to move out of our condo on to the boat, which means moving most of our stuff into long term storage. We should be moved onto the boat by 10/17/08.
We are selling both our cars, first the Xterra in the next two weeks then my son Cory will sell the Camry.
Today I finished installing the water maker, revising the electrical system, and creating boat cards. Our "to do" list is very long and overwhelming, but we realize we won't finish everything, just the most important.
This blog is to keep our family and friends informed about what we are doing and where we are. We are leaving on Oct. 27th, 2008 heading for Florida (via the canal) then onto the Caribbean.

About:
Nancy & I have been planning to go sailing for years. We are not ready to retire but decided to take this trip before we get to old. Sailing takes a lot of energy and commitment so we didnt want to wait until we cant physically handle the trip. [...]
