16 November 2008 | Chacala, Mexico
We are spending the day at Chacala. We launched the dinghy but we didn't need the outboard engine (we rowed to shore). The town is a little Mexican beach town where families come to enjoy the beach and camp out. We purchased a fresh coconut and the vendor opened it up and we drank the sweet coconut water and he dug out the coconut meat all for 40 cents. The Mexican families were having a great time swimming and the beach even has a lifeguard on duty. This place is awesome but no waves so our next stop is Punta Mita, which Nancy visited on a surf trip seven years ago. We met some other cruisers and were invited over for sundowners on "Someday Isle" a beautiful Passport 38'. We met some nice people and discussed good anchorages and boats. We were in bed by 9:00PM because we were sailing away in the morning.
