18 November 2008 | Punta De Mita, Mexico
Punta Mita has really grown since Nancy was here last. They put a Four Seasons resort on the point and build condos along the beach. It doesn't look like it used too, but what does? I launched the dinghy and secured the 15 horsepower engine. With Nancy & I and this engine on the dinghy it really flies (+35 kts). We went to shore and went to the local tienda (market). We were able to get fresh veggies, bottled water, bread, cookies, etc. Our grocery bill was only $20.
We then took the dinghy up & down the coast checking out the waves. The swell is small (3-4') but looks fun. I need to rig up a dinghy anchor so I can anchor just outside the break. This means hack-sawing some chain off my stern anchor, which means working. It takes more energy to get moving down here so I'm still planning to do this once I finish typing. We did find a cool little cafť with internet access so we wanted to finish our writing to we could post today. We are making an effort to keep the writing going but sometimes it may take a couple of days to post.
