Redang Island, 5 star

Redang was a pleasant surprise, nice anchorage in some of the clearest water we had seen on the trip todate. Unfortunately there were still some jelly fish around at certain time of the tide but it didn't stop us from enjoying the snorkeling. Ther is a 5 star resort in the bay and we took some time to walk from there to the port (about 3 klms over a hill) got tired on the way back and finished up in the back of a truck with a friendly local delivering us to the front gate of the resort.
We thought that was a good excuse to same the resort bar, a rarity in this part of the world. Food was great, beer was cold but all a bit expensive as you would imagine. The staff were very welcoming.
We snorkelled a lot here and really enjoyed it knowing also that once we leave this side of Malaysia for Borneo we may not get anouther chance for a while so we made the most of it. We will leave soon for the Perenthian islands, our last stop before the big sail as Carol calls it.
