We have been in the Philippines now for 2 and a half weeks and love it. We sailed from Kudat in Borneo to the bottom end of Palawan then up to Puerto Princessa. We stopped along the way at Balabac and had a very interesting time. First went into town with John and Pauline for Our Odessey for a look around and our first taste of the Philippines. There were some young guys loading two small head of cattle onto a very small boat for a trip out to one of the islands. The cattle had to jump onto the boat with a little help from the men. Our sailing cowboy, John with many years of experience around stations and animals gave a hand. First one on with John giving some advice to the boys but I think he pulled a muscle in his shoulder and retired hurt. Second one on and we all clapped and got a laugh from the team. I will post some pictures when we get som goo Internet .
Next a quick walk around the town and then discovered a small shop that sold beer. Not just any beer but RED HORSE. We were invited into a small, bar at the side and presented with a beer each, in Litre bottles. We had two and the rest is history. We were then invited to a house up the end of the town for a chat and at the same time met the navy boys who were getting ready to prepare a pig for the off. Boy they squeal when they work out what's next. We were invited to what and again John had some good advice that mostly went unheard.

Back to the yachts and then out to the Kareoke for dinner and a sing song. Bot the locals could sing. More later.
