I survived the Vallarta Zoo

Since we have a car we decided to do some touristy things here in PV since we are not driving to Barre de Navidad...yet. We went to the surfing town of Sayulita and we visited the Vallarta Zoo. The Zoo is nothing like what you see in the states. You purchase a bag of food for 50 pesos and feed the animals as you walk thru. The first 60 percent is uphill, seriously uphill and you are in the jungle. The last 40 percent is downhill, steeply downhill. Some of the pens are not well kept, and the pigs...just like the farm in Illinois. But feeding the animals was cool, mostly. We made the mistake of feeding the geese on the walkway. Then they proceeded to follow us for quite a while. One even bit Jim on the butt? Plus they drew blood when he tried to feed them. Even better was a baboon that went ballistic when I fed his girlfriend. He rushed to the front of the cage and reached thru two sets of fence and smacked Jim in the forehead! Also drawing blood. We found out later that he is notorious for his bad behavior. We decided to make for the exit before something else happened. See the gallery for the evil doers!
