Surfing To Santa Barbara

Left Morro Bay Tuesday, September 14 at 3:00 AM and arrived in Santa Barbara at 6:30 PM. We motor sailed all the way but had enough wind to be able to surf some of the swells. There is nothing like the feeling when the boat lifts up on a swell and starts surfing down the crest.
We had a great time in Santa Barbara and all took the trolley downtown. The guys went their way to West Marine and beers and nachos and the girls went shopping on State Street for clothes and Di treated us to lunch at Nordstrom's. We also got a visit from our niece, Kim. We had not seen Kim since her wedding so it was great to see her and her 2 boys, Bobby and Jake.
Before leaving Santa Barbara on Sunday, September 19, we all stopped at the fuel dock. This was our first fuel purchase since we left Alameda and Eric was very happy that our consumption was less than 1 gallon per hour. Di's Dream and Full:Shell left at 11:30 AM for Ventura and Hotel California left just before us heading for Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard. We've had a great time with Rick and Pam and will catch up with them in Catalina.
