Marina Riviera Nayarit
01 March 2011 | La Cruz de Huanacaxtle
We arrived at the La Cruz anchorage at 11:45 am on 2/26/11. We decided to move to the marina the next day and get the boat washed, waxed and polished. Full:Shell now looks brand new again.
We joined Katie, Diane and Jack for a short bus trip to Bucerias, which is 3.5 miles east of La Cruz. We shopped the touristo stands, stopped for cervesas at colorful place above, had lunch at a great place on the beach, and then shopped the upscale shops.
La Cruz is a Mexican town with lots of gringo cruisers, great places to eat and drink, and the best music scene around. We had a jazz brunch at Abalon's, which is operated by retired cruisers, and also had dinner, followed by flamengo dancers, there with Ted and Brenda from Firefly. We also shopped at the Sunday market in the square and felt like we were in Berkeley.
