Gerrit Arrives - Loreto - Isla Coronados
19 July 2011 | Loreto
We worked our way back down to Loreto so we could pick up our grandson, Gerrit, from the airport. He flew in from Santa Rosa, California and arrived ready to explore the Sea of Cortez with us on board FULL:SHELL. First stop was for tacos at LuLu's, one of our favorite places in Loreto. Then we walked to the small marina where our dinghy was waiting and headed out to FULL:SHELL in the anchorage in front of Loreto.
We had a great time on the way over to Isla Coronados (6 miles north) where we planned to spend a couple of days. Gerrit got to see a pod of dolphins that came up to our boat and started racing us and playing. (Check out our photo gallery)
I think his favorite thing is driving the dinghy fast and not in a straight line. The weather has turned hotter and more humid so we spend a lot of time in the water. We don't have a thermometer but reports have been at least 95 with 50 percent humidity.
