On Land and Sea
23 August 2010 | Richards Bay, South Africa
Sunset Cruise - Russell and Carol.
Wow... it has been a while since l've updated my blog as it has been pretty busy lately. l just wanted to post a link and update you on my latest happenings.
I am back in my old home town of Richards Bay which is approx 170 km north of Durban on the east coast. The climate here is all year round tourist friendly with sea temperatures relatively stable, averaging 21 degrees. South African temperatures are influenced by variations in elevation, terrain, and ocean currents more than latitude.
Since returning from the Seychelles, l've been spending time on my shore based job which is completing various maintenance contracts and repairs to everything marine. Second to sailing, working on boats is my passion.
Part of my work involved servicing two D5 Volvo Penta motors on a Riviera fishing boat and I have also just completed a full service and valet on a Bavaria power boat with a Volvo Pentas D6 engine. This beautiful boat was a pleasure to work on and belongs to ex F1 one power boat racer, Russell Chard. The photo above was taken on a sunset cruise with Russell and his lovely wife, Carol.
For those of you who still pass by - thank you and those of you who are new, I hope you will pass by again soon.
