Sooo Thankful

I am so thankful for a very good launch with absolutely nothing going wrong. It was so sweet compared to other splashes, I could hardly believe it. After dropping in the water I motored a couple miles across the bay to my favorite place..Singlar. Launching a boat is so stressful, because you have a lot of things that could go wrong and I'm constantly worrying about it. That wonderful feeling of floating on the water was the icing on the cake. The day after I launched, I started to get the boat ready for cruising. The impeller on the electric head was not working so I had to tear it apart and found that the blades were permanently curved, so it wouldn't work properly. I went over to San Carlos and was thrilled to find out that Star Marine had the correct impeller in stock. So I installed it and now the toilet gushes tons of water through the system. Then I had to change the galley faucet....it was the original(1974) faucet installed when the boat was built. So you can imagine the corrosive look it had and the connections were going to be a challenge. I successfully unscrewed the water lines and put the nice new shiny faucet in place. Now, I thought for sure there would be a leak when I turned on the water pump, but guess what....it worked like a charm and didn't leak a drop. Wow, that's two for two....what's wrong with this picture. Today I took the dinghy wheel mounts off the old dinghy and mounted them on the new Avon Rib....also I bought a new tire and innertube and changed those today. I cannot believe how smooth everything is going. Tomorrow I will climb the mast so I can put on my new blocks and the halyards back up and take off the tricolor and the wind transducer. I have a new tricolor and the transducer wires severed up at the top, so I have to fix those and re-install it.
Now for the Thankfulness, even though this is the first Thanksgiving I spent by myself having a fish fillet stuffed with shrimp and spinach. First and foremost...Gabriella, the sweetest and best thing ever in my life...my son and daughter-in-law...all my wonderful friends and family....the fact that I get to do what I do in my retirement(the Grace of God)....this year of remarkably easy repairs and installations on the boat....and my health! LIFE IS GOOD! (even though that butthead got re-elected...pray for our country)
