Left my most popular hangout for La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in company of Amarige. We anchored for the night in Chamela/Punta Perula and scooted the next morning for Ipala. The conditions were so good I decided to keep going to La Cruz and Joe on Amarige went into Ipala for the night. That was a strange yet familiar feeling...sailing on my own without having a buddy boat to slow down for. Stayed in La Cruz for aboout a week and then headed out for my favorite tropical anchorage of Chacala, Nayarit. I stayed only one night because of a nice southerly weather window to cross over to Baja. I ordered a huge delicious burrito and a pizza from Chacmool palapa on the beach to put in the fridge for the crossing. I weighed anchor in Chacala and headed over to San Blas...24 miles..to get some diesel for the crossing. Pulling into the estuary, getting fuel, then motoring out to resume my ocean passage took just an hour. Had a nice passage with a boisterous overnight sail in winds up to 20 knots and beam seas. Pulled into Muertos two days later for a rest and went ashore for the first time...I have anchored here about 5 or 6 times. There was a delightful restaurant in the corner of the anchorage and the food was pretty decent..but pricey because of being out in the boondocks. Left the next morning and made a nice passage through the Ceralvo channel and across the top of the peninsula of La Paz. I noticed a lot of people on the beaches, then it dawned on me that Semana Santa had started. Got into La Paz and anchored at my favorite spot in front of the Virtual Marina close to the beach and malecon. Applebees and Burger King is in my backyard. Go to Weather Underground...www.wunderground.com and find La Paz weather forecast...then click on the live cam and enlarge it and you will see me in the back center. The cover photo is an awesome sunset heading across the Sea of Cortes.
