It's catching up to me!

Grumpy grandpa
I have had an enjoyable six years of cruising Mexico and haven't had any problems concerning the locals or authorities. That being said, this is the year of change so far. When I arrived and boarded the boat, everything looked OK. Then I went to the office and started chatting with Ariana. She asked me if everything looked OK on the boat and asked specifically if anything was missing. I told her everything looked fine and it didn't look like anything was missing. The following day I was taking everything off the boat to get ready to paint and install new windows. I was going over the stuff I put in the storage shed and I thought about my generator. It was nowhere to be found. I marched up to the office and told Ariana that the generator was missing. They told me they had a suspect security gaurd and found my doors open one day after he got fired. With much talk and showing my dissatifaction with the process, I have concluded that I'm not going to get any recourse for the loss.
The other night I was driving in the dark to go after some potato chips at OXXO(7/11). I drove down the street and was making a right to go the street that leads to the marina and just as I entered it I noticed a ONE WAY arrow on top of the street name sign. I could have easily turned back to the street I was on but a lady cop on foot beat guidied me over to the side and further up the one way st. She started out by saying I was going the wrong way and wanted my drivers license. Well I left my wallet on the boat and she said I would have to follow her to the police station. The follow her part consisted of me driving her there in my car because she was a foot cop. We got to the police station...which was about 7 miles on the other side of town...and I had to pay a $500 peso fine. Needless to say that the bag of chips was very expensive. So all of this negative crap happening to me is not a very nice start to this cruising season. The Photo is of wood rot in my boom....that's the next story!
