Off we go again.

We set off from Neyland at about 11am to come back to Port Dinorwic. We are planning to go through Jack Sound and Ramsey Sound which will be interesting.

Bloody Neyland

Coming into Milford Haven is pretty challenging. Lots of lights and confusion. I managed to pilot us through all that and then managed to put us aground just outside the entrance.

Milford Haven

The curse of head winds continues. The wind was from North East and set to get stronger. It looked unlikely we would make Bardsey for tomorrow morning’s tide and with a strengthening NE wind, crossing the bar Tuesday evening looks unlikely so we have turned around and are heading for Neyland marina [...]

We did it

Apologies for late update.
We actually got back to Port Dinorwic at about 9am Thursday morning.
The sail was uneventful and the engine did most of the hard work again = we only managed a few hours without the engine. Everyone (including me) just wanted to get it over.
We saw yet more dolphins crossing Cardigan Bay and passed through Jack Sound and Ramsey Sound along the way.
I reflected as we entered the Straits overlooked by Snowdonia and Yr Eifl, I had seen a lot of new and interesting places but none of them was better than the entrance to the Menai Straits.
From Royan to Port Dinorwic we logged 660 miles with our minor deviations along the way.
I logged just over 1800 miles with Gaia over the who;e trip.
There were some great times and some frustrating times.
I learned more about the mechanics of Gaia's engine than I ever wanted to.
I have been helped along the way by lots of friends who have sometimes had to put up with my frustrations. Thank you, all of you.
I have done a passage that will hopefully get me the qualification I wanted.
Thank you Tracy for putting up with my absences and for helping to fill the financial holes of sailing.
Finally, thank you to all the people who have followed by ramblings.

Bugger.
Looks like the earliest we will get back now is Thursday.
