Today, I began plotting out the course of my grand journey. I first began with the old fashioned way. A World Map, Thumbtacks, and Red Yarn!

Of course, this isn't the most efficient of methods at my disposal, so I started plotting the course with Google Earth's map.

What I've also learned is that "Plan #1" as I'm calling it, will take me from Sri Lanka, across the Indian Ocean to Madagascar, and then south to Cape Town, and around Africa. This plan is meant to steer us away from the dreaded Pirate infested waters around Somalia and Oman. However, It also means we don't go through the Mediterranean, as I'd hoped to.

I believe my next plotting exercise will be called "Plan #2"... and it will call for a more daring path.
