Menorca with Steve & Tania

Tania and I arrived from Windy and Wet London to Sunny Menorca and apart from having to explain to immigration that I was staying on a boat got down to the Marina without fuss. Brad came scooting across the millpond of the bay to pick us up in Apparition (Appi) and back to the boat. Lots of drinks and food followed and I can say from firsthand experience the Paella recipe is fantastic!
Friday morning we awoke to the fantastic view from the Cala Tulera, blue skies, lovely heat and nice hangovers! We sailed down the coast to Cala Covas which was supposed to be the best bay in the Balearics. Beside the topless woman there was lots of rubbish and dead fish so we moved on down to Cala Porte and we were so glad we did.
Firstly there was an amazing bar we would see jutting directly out of the cliffs. The bay was lovely if a little crowded with boats. Brad checked out a buoy and we attached ourselves to that. A few swims and drinks later we decided to head up to the cliff side bar.
We scooted across the bay to the shore and onto the slipperiest ramp ever. Kat took an unexpected dip in the water but we got up the three hundred steps to the top of the bay. A quick beer at another amazing rooftop bar and then onto Sa Cova. Well the walk was certainly worth it. This place is amazing...basically a bar hewn out of the side of the cliff with caves going back into the mountain light with glowing wires. Views are amazing even for a height averse person like myself.
Following day without too bad of a hangover we relaxed with snorkelling, big breakfast and a little snooze. We set sail back to port Mahon and it was a glorious sail back, sails up and waves crashing against the front of the boat were spectacular and not to mention the amazing views of bays and coast line all the way back. Arrived at the bay and moored up against some fellow yachtsmen, cracked open a few beers and played some cards along to some Ozzi tunes. Followed by a lovely dinner with lots of Sangria and Italian food!
End of a lovely trip and wish we could stay longer, amazing place and awesome company =)
