It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

28 November 2010 | Sydney Harbour, Australia

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

Fish and sunny days

26 November 2009 | Atlantic
Brad
Well again we are happy to say we are all well and good on board. The winds have eased a bit, the sea state is more manageable and most importantly we are having a great time. Yesterday was very sunny. Plenty of sun bathing, showers on the aft deck, sundowners around 4-430ish and dinner served at 5pm. Pretty tough life. Right now Stefano is preparing a fabulous apple walnut and blue cheese salad. Life is tough!

Even though it was a relaxing day we put in our best 24 hour run yet, nailing a good 223miles all in the right direction!! We were a little gutted to see the previous day's effort show as only 103 miles even though we had a 190plus mile run. A function of running to two straight sides of the triangle not the diagonal. We are hopeful that coming south will pay off considering so many went west early. But as is echo every year. This is a rally not a race!!

So on top of the 223 mile day we caught a fish early this morning. Put the line out and within about 15 mins we had a bite! Reeled him in... no worries! We think it is/was a Mahi Mahi being green with a steep forehead. Nevertheless he's been topped and tailed, discalced and wrapped in foil with butter, lemon and parsley for the BBQ tonight!

We've only seen a couple of other boats way off in the distance, some sea birds come and go as do the dolphins and more recently a couple of schools of flying fish skimming along the surface.

That's it from all on GHOST.

PS: on the ARC website there should be a photo of the fish!!! Search for our log, there should be a link to Pictures
