It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

28 November 2010 | Sydney Harbour, Australia

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

Update

01 February 2007
Brad
Just so no one thinks we jumped from buying a yacht to a Channel race and on to the Fastnet!! We did complete a couple of training weekends, and the following RORC races:
St Quay - finished: the return journey was an education with forecast serve 9's which saw us run in front of the storm for the cover of St Helier!! Even after a night there enjoying the safety and a couple of bottles of red, the run home via the Alderney race was awesome with 3m standing waves due to wide against tide and a couple of times when the deck was covered in a foot of green water!!
St Helier - retired: an early beat south left us a long route to the finish line so we turned at 7am Saturday morning for a fantastic kite ride home crossing the channel in about 3-4 hours averaging a good 12 knots.
St Malo - finished: Long race down to St Malo. We were becalmed for 3 hours on Saturday afternoon, before a puff of breeze saw the kite up. Best part was the immense team effort that saw us reel in another yacht to beat them by 20 seconds. We made up the 1.5nm in a little over the 3nm to the finish line!!!
24hr Channel race - see above!!

So we'll try to get more info and pics up about these in due course.
