It's Official

It's a sad but good thing, we no longer own GHOST. She is now owned by an architect in Sydney who has plans of sailing the South Pacific once again.

Reality bites!!

It's been a while since we updated the blog. Apologies for that but we've been busy fighting off the onslaught of reality, not really wanting to admit it's over! After arriving it was the welcome party in Sydney, followed by a hectic week of moving ALL our personal stuff off GHOST. On a side note, it [...]

GHOST for sale!

Well it's sad news but GHOST is now officially up for sale!

28 November 2010 | Sydney Harbour, Australia

Welcome to Sydney GHOST

Well it was a brilliantly sunny day as we set off from Pittwater in GHOST, entering the Sydney heads about lunchtime. It was a pretty emotional sail through this iconic harbour which Brad has envisaged sailing into as long as he's dreamt of sailing home to Australia. Soon we were pulling up to the [...]

Cretins in Crete

11 July 2008 | Khania, Crete
Kat
We decided to get a move on and get to Crete so sailed overnight and arrived in Khania this morning. Lots of wind overnight so managed to sail the whole way here so still have half a tank of diesel - yippee!

We also managed to find a slot in the marina, though predicably the swell makes it rather a bumpy stay - we miss English marinas with alongside mooring!

Just as we were about to leave the boat to explore the town, one of the harbour wall rings that we were moored to detatched itself from the wall - all a bit worrying! At least this marina is relatively cheap although it took the best part of an hour to fill in the multitude of forms that seem to be required to enter Greece!

We're now off cycling round the town which is pretty if rather overun with German and British tourists cooking in the midday sun.

Tomorrow we have a longish sail ahead of us to Iraklion where we'll hire a car and visit the Palace of Knosses, the home of the minotaur!
